The new age youth is all about dreams and making them true. Filmmakers also find this subject compelling as it primarily targets the urban youth which has a good spending capacity. Director's Muazzam Beg's 'Sadda Adda' is the new youth movie on the block.
The film is set in the backdrop of Indian capital Delhi where six migrants from different states share a two BHK apartment which they fondly call 'Sadda Adda'. They have come to Delhi in pursuit of their dreams which they couldn't fulfil in their home towns.
They live in a chaotic condition with empty beer bottles, cigarette butts and used clothes surrounding them. They do everything together, from cooking food to cleaning utensils to buying groceries. They share everything, from shirts to their laugh and stand up for each other.
Basically the central plot focuses the journey of six boys who become men after a lot of struggle. The moral of the story is 'people have dreams, but not all of us have the guts to put faith in ourselves'.
The film is directed by Muazzam Beg whose last film as a writer was 'Rockstar'. Youth oriented central idea had worked in 'Rockstar' and that provides hope for 'Sadda Adda' too.
The film features several newcomers in the pivotal characters. Karanvir Sharma, Robin Robert, Bhaumik Sampat, Kunal Pant, Rohit Arora and Shaurya Chauhan will be seen in the lead roles. Kahkashan Aryan, Parimal Aloke and Maryam Zakaria will also be visible in important roles.
The music of the film is provided by Shamir Tandon, Band of Boys and Ramji Gulati. One song of the film 'Sirphira Hai Dil' has excelled to some limit.
'Sadda Adda' has not been publicized much, so there is not a mountain of expectations for the film. This may prove to be a blessing in disguise for Muazzam Beg's film.
