In most probability, their films will be clashing at the box-office on the same date next year.
Amidst stories about growing friendship betweenBipasha Basu and South star Rana Daggubatti, here's a twist in the tale. While the two have been bonding big time and making arm-in-arm public appearances and things seem to be going good for them on personal front, it's quite the opposite on professional front.
If trade sources are to be believed, Bipasha Basu and Rana Daggubatti will be fighting next year. And before you jump to conclusions, they will be battling it out at the box-office. Buzz is that Bipasha Basu's film Jodi Breakers and Rana Daggubatti's Department will release on the same date - February 24, 2012.
Both the films are important for the respective actors. A trade source says, "Jodi Breakers has Bipasha Basu as the solo female lead after a spate of multi-starrers (Dum Maaro Dum, Players). And Department, despite being a multistarrer is Rana Daggubatti's second Hindi film and he is hugely banking on it to make his mark in Bollywood."
While Ram Gopal Varma recently confirmed that Department will be releasing in February end, there is buzz that Madhavan (who stars alongside Bipasha in Jodi Breakers) is superstitious about the February 24 release date since his film Tanu Weds Manu released on the same date last year and was a runaway success.
Much as they might want, if the clash actually happens, there would be little that Bipasha and Rana could do about it as the release date is more of the producer's call.
